I'm not sure how to post a picture on this thread, (http??) yikes, a little beyound me.

I did send a few shots to the picture section.

The shots I sent a not current, they are minus the 1100 forks and TT, cooling fan, super bike bars, 1100 gauges that soon to be swapped for full electronic cluster.....ect.

If someone could give he a "how to" on the pictures I would be happy to post a shot or two here.

I had a guestion for you 1100 types, do you have problems with your Hy-Vo chain becoming sloppy and wrapping against the inside of the case?

        Thanks for you interest guys,

type in "photobucket" in your address bar.
this is a free service for pictures.
          upload pics to there site.

below each picture you have uploaded there are three windows with info of the picture.

          Copy the bottom one. "IMG"

          Paste in your post here.
picture will appear in your post but will actually be just a pointer to your pic at photobucket.

recommend pics in jpeg and 640X480 pixel size. Larger and will need to side scroll etc. and for guys with dial-up will take longer for them to see your post.

you don't have to use photobucket, but you need to have a pointer to where the picture is stored.

HP no clue....... Way more torque then stock, enough to get me in deep doo doo, So far every HD 1100 I've run has gone down in flames. Nothing serious, mostly light to light sprints. Not sure what a hog would do to me at top end.........

                Wieght around 720 +-

Rear wheel is stock, same as the front. Just larger front rotors due to the 1100 front end (not shown)

Supertrap 3 into1 header with Kerker tunable megaphone.

Front and rear AVON Distanzia tires, highly recommended!

Lowered seat and tank, better CG

                Newtronic ignition

Accel 8mm wires, NGK caps set

                K&N style air cleaners

Wiesco domed 74.5mm piston and ring set

                3/4 valve seat grind

Soon to be indexed cam (intake only)

                That's it for this week,

I do have a custom crash bar set coming from Italy and a set of boots for the front forks.

"And that's it!!!" says the wife.................

                Yes dear..............

I'll see if I can get a current picture up.

Stock bore on the XS1100 71.5mm
weighs in just under 600 pounds
                  Stock H.P. claim about 95 H.P..

Next year plan to add a turbo to one of my XS's.
Will be set up for street. Also been looking at sorta reasonable ways to be able to put a wider tire on an XS and still keep the shaft drive. May have to go the "chain drive conversion" done by pggg. Seems he's got it well worked out.

Kept up with a guys V rod in Niles. Think he felt a little shame even though he was out in front. My XS1100G not worth 1/4 of just the chrome goodies on his bike. Meet him agin couple weeks ago. He'd just spent $6,000.00 on a turbo. Not going to race him agin without one of my own

Nice call on the turbo, mucho denaro right?..........yikes

I think I'm going in the EFI direction, I have MK2s that are doing a yeoman's job keeping up with my engine mods but vacum is slow to respond and even a set of VM34s are great but for the money I'll see what I can find in EFI.

EFI Turbo, ya baby know thats what I'm talkin about. cool: I'll just sell the house and one kid and I can afford it

Man I love this bike, It's fun knowing you have a true one off bike.
Never heard or saw one before and couldn't understand why.

                    It sure ain't brain surgey.

                    Question..........

Any ideas on where I could be getting an ignition miss from...
It's bad when cold and better when the bike is warm. I checked coils, mechanical advance, ignition box and wires.
Feels like I have a intermittent short somewhere (the worst kind)

Good talking with you, like to get together with some of you guys and share a little Yamaha lorr, drawin down on a cool one.

                    S! Jager

                        Sure it's ignition miss ???

The carbs seem in sound running order, I did have a broken pilot screw, I managed to get the point out and synch the carbs.

It feels like I have a dead short somewhere. With the addition of the 1100 tank and Tach (neither I have working yet) I might have inadvertently connected something I shouldn't have. or connected it the wrong way.

I have a spare harrness I can install. but I want to ride the bike not have it in parts all over my shop

                          I know, I know.......
You want some cheese and cracker wit that WHINE..

That's a great artical, I will check the leads from my pick up. I lubed the advance yesterday, I didn't notice anyhing out of sorts. Of course that's the problem with a hidden wire brake, not knowing where it might be.

                          Thanks for your help,

Did you see my question about the 1100 Hy-Vo chain? Do you guys have the same problem the triples have, where the chain develops slack over time and begins eating the inside of the case?

                          Thanks,

                            1100 Hy-Vo chain

XS1100 engine spins clockwise. Should not hit case. Have heard of guys with 60/80,000+ miles who have said they have never had to split the cases. On the few I've torn into 25 to 35,000 miles on em, insides looked remarkable good. One had #3 piston smacking the cylinder, one gust low compresion (very hard riden), and one with a tranny problem. (Still have some to learn about these trannies)

Have seen a mod where a tensioner is added to alleviate this problem, but can't remember if it was this site or another or what bike it was for. (had pics of mod too)

Would need a little room under chain for plastic piece, hole thru case for bolt to hold in place/adjust. w/o seeing cases split could not hazard a guess if can be done to your 900.

                            mro
                            btw
EFI has been done to the XS1100. Run a search and the mod should come up.

I've already designed and built a tensioner for the triples......

                              [IMG][/IMG]

I wanted to know if you guys had a similar problem, I would offer what I have as a possible solution.

My G4 tensioner is Patent pending.......I'll be in full production with in a month or so.

Just doing my part to keep these old girls on the road.
