    XS400 Helicoil

    I need to do a helicoil on my 79 XS400. Does anyone know what size i need?? The sparkplug size is NGK BP7ES.

        Go to your local auto parts store and ask for HeliCoil part number 5334-14. That is the kit that I used to repair a bad spark plug hole. The thread size is M14x1.25, btw.

          Thanks Guys. One more question, is it a good idea to use thread sealer on helicoils??

            The Helicoil kit that I mentioned recommends using a little of the orange, hi temp silicone on the outside of the insert, then let it cure before using. It's all in the instructions.
