  • xs400 coils

I am looking to put a new set of ignition coils on my 1979 xs400, and have found exact replacements on a few sites.. however they are very expensive (around $90 each). I stumbled across mikesxs.com and found coils for an xs650 for $16 a piece. heres a link http://www.mikesxs.com/mikesxs-elect...ategory_id=2.1

Can anyone tell me if these coils would be compatible with my bike, or where I could find brand new coils at a cheap price.

    Thanks !

.. if your bikes original coils were rated at 4 ohms [check your service manual] and if your model bike came with points, then those Mikes coils will work. you might have to alter the original mounting brackets to make them fit, or make your own
.. i suffer from CRS, so i cant remember what year the 400s went to electonic ignition[i think it was 80] or the ohm value of the coils[i thought it was 3 ohms]
..sorry, i might not be much help this time
