Here's my complete mongrel of an XS11 getting stripped, cleaned and painted. The engine covers and camcover a getting done with thick gloss enamel - goes on with a brush. I've also rigged the tank to sit different with a hunch look. More room under there for nitrous stuff too. The tail end is still open to possibilities, currently I've got an XL185 tail-light setup that looks quite good. An XJR tail end culd probably be done easy enough. Anyway I'm itching to get this thing back on the road with some low gearing. Should do good 1/4's if the front stays down

Yep Prom, who needs that pesky engine oil stuff in there anyway. GN I attacked the engine case with an angle grinder just lightly skimmed off a couple of mm's. Now a 14 front fits no sweat. Just waiting on some chain C clip links, as the politically correct crowd ensure only rivet links for 530 chain are available nowadays.

We get heaps of chain though for the balers and wrappers, can't say what size it is, but c clips are required by the dozen. Last stuff up I had was 2am one weekend late last year with chains driving the wrapper, replaced two sections that had jammed and twisted, used 3 or 4 c clips and back to work.
Maybe try some industrial supply places?

You can think of a lightning bolt as essentially a really really big bug zapper. Unfortunatey, we're the bugs.

Hi Dave, yeah the motorbike shops would have you believe that changing a chain is a highly complex specialised undertaking that can only be done by highly skilled specialised people using highly complex specialised tools. We can't have motorcyclists actually doing their own maintenance can we. Never mind that we've all used c-clip chains incident free for decades. I'm waiting for compulsory seat-belts for motorcycles next You're right C-clips are available at the right places.
