-1978 XS750SF - brought back from the dead with carb
triple clean and boots
-1982 XJ1100J - brought back from the dead by
replacing motor after throwing #4 rod
-1985 XJ750XN - shim job, oil change, ride. not bad for
$500 including new rear tire.
Good to know there are other like minded riders that love the classics.
I live near Calgary and have a 1981 XS1100 LH Midnight Special that is in need of attention. I purchased it from a local and the motor needed attention. The previous owner turned a con rod bearing on the crank and left the motor in pieces. The bike will be receiving a used engine until I can resurrect the original motor (if ever). I have been dealing with a couple really righteous custom builders in Calgary and should have the bike ready for touring this spring.
I am also dealing on a used 1980 XS1100 Midnight Special that is complete and has some major electrical issues. I should be able to have 2 MN Specials up and running (Call me a die hard).
Is there an XS1100 club organized out west? There are lots of other clubs but its best to keep current with older Yama-nuts.
Keep ridin and hope to meet up some day.
