About to buy an XS1100 Venturer project bike in a few days. It may turn into a parts bike, but I'm going to try to get it running.

Previous recent road bikes: 1981 Suzuki GS650/4, 1976 BMW R90/6, 1975 Honda CB750/4, and the only bike at the moment is a 1981 BMW R100.

I retired a couple of years ago and went on a bucket list solo trip around the US: 30 days, 9,000 miles on the CB750. I documented the trip on my photo/moto site: frankfoto.jimdo.com

Pics of the new Eleven, and lots of questions, in a few days.

Just read your whole ride report Frank! Nice job on you big trip. I followed along on Google Maps. Been on a lot of the same roads, though not all the way to the coast.
I have a photo background as well, but the camera tends to remain home on bike trips, and you took a bunch of cameras with you!
As the saying goes, you meet the nicest people on a Honda. Oughta be the same on your BMW..
Good luck with your XS. Answers to all your questions can be found from all the knowledgeable people here.

Welcome. This thread would be more suited to the Member Lounge.
How far North of Toronto are you? There are plenty of members in the Southern Ontario region. You will see from my signature that I have an 81H

I have a Beseler 45MX enlarger set up in my darkroom. I prefer HP5+.

Thanks guys! I'll be starting a rebuild thread.

It's actually a 1978 E bike. I made the change in the User CP section, but it hasn't "taken".

                  Hi Frank,
You need to go into your profile and select "signature" from
the Control Panel. remember to 'save' at the bottom of the box or it will not change
