  • Gas tank float/ other things

About a month ago a person took me up on what I was asking for my 78 XS-11 E and purchased it. In a way I was glad because the bike had not been run for over 2 years. It had been started from time to time but not actually ridden any distance. I knew if you let something sit to long all kinds of problems can pop up. I gave him this website if he has questions. At least the bike will be enjoyed.
Now I have a fuel sender for a 78E that is gathering dust in the house. It worked fine when I removed it from the old tank. If you need one or want a spare let me know.
    Gone but not forgotten.

        Jimboreeno,
The assembly will bolt up to your tank, but I don't think it will work. The Yamaha part numbers on the sending units are different. The Gaskit and bolt part numbers match between '78 and '82, just the sending unit is different.

Finally had the Yamaha picture come up. The '78 float is to the front of the tank, the '82 float is to the rear.
