    Search the online surplus places, there used to be several that had welder generators at cheap prices. Don't remember the names of any of them, and the one I did remeber dosen't seem to have any.

      I have a 150 amp MIG welder but down the line I'd like to get a TIG welder around the the 250 amp range.

      I vaguely remember some one running a weder off an inverter when I was a kid but that was a long time ago...

        I'll try searching for one. My first thought was to look for a generator with a dead engine to salvage the generator.

        This is a back burner project where I'm in the gathering parts stage. I have most of the stuff to assemble the engine but I have to get a couple bike projects out of my way first...
