I'd like to get Bob Jones' book and am wondering if I have to order directly through him ($40), or if anyone has found a more economical option. Haven't seen it available anywhere else - new or used. Man, Merriam Cycle stuff is expensive.

Bob's book is a decent read, and it will give you a pretty good understanding what he thinks of Yamaha and of the XS11. Call up and order directly from Bob and he'll autograph your copy.

I actually enjoyed Dragonrider's books more, but they are two entirely different styles.

Can you be truly Xsive if you don't own them all?

        Probably not, Ken.

I have Dragonrider's first and liked it a lot.

                  Hi Ken and Bruce!!!

Yup, I'm gonna order a copy, either online or at a local dealer......

on bike news, I tried starting my 78' today and no go, its been sitting all winter and after checking plugs found them to be dry and not soaked with fuel, possibly floats are stuck, she'll run tomorrow.....

                        Merriam Cycle

I went in his shop yesterday for parts. Got the book as well. So far it is pretty entertaining. He did sign it (he was the front counter guy)

Parts seemed a little pricey through him, but, hey, he had them in stock and I needed them 2 days ago, so I don't mind paying a little extra, getting the stuff I need now, and supporting the local (somewhat) economy.

They are K&L carb kits, but all I really need is the dang needle and seat out of it.
