    Unbelievable carb boots!!

You all have to check this one out.......think someone made someone else REALLY burn themselves. It's legitimate bids too. For that price, you can put rest of bike out for trash pick-up! Item #4624318381.

I can't believe they'd actually pay that for them. If so, they are clueless. I see negative feedback in someone's future.

That's Pure-D-INSANITY right there. Kinda makes you wonder what the hell happened, or at least what happened to 2 bidder's commen sense.

Well, I was thinking someone made a mistake and punched in the wrong amount, but that doesnt make sense, since it would have just gone over that next highest bid.

Doesnt make sense. I guess there are those who are oblivious-maybe so filthy rich that they dont care what they spend on something.

But that being just-a-little higher than the next highest bid is what puzzles me, how could there be that many morons. ??

there is one other option. when I was new to selling and ebay, I put my old motherboard up for auction so I could build a new system. Well, two days into bidding the motherboard stopped working. I didn't know how to stop the auction, so I used my girlfriends account and bid a rediculously high amount. But, for the bidding to have gotten THAT high, the other bidder had to make the rediculously high bid of 2500. Another thing that seems wierd is that the winning bid is $50 higher than THAT. Shouldn't he/she have won it for $2501 ? All very strang. Hard to believe it is ligit since there are several sets on there right now w/ buy it now for 80-90.

wonder if the seller is going to rape him on shipping now? If that were my auction, I would be very nice and throw in the shipping for free!!!

                ???

I'm an occasional ebayer, so maybe I don't know how the bid history is posted.

It almost looks like the winner came in to snipe the price at $70 on the 27th at the last second, saw he was outbid (by another's max bid), so put in a huge amount to make sure he won as time was expiring. Then the price just automatically jockeyed between the two huge bid prices until the $2500 max was reached and that's what posted for that guy. When prices get that high, is the increment $50? That'd explain the $2550 winning bid.

Man, i guess i missed that one!!!!!!!!Good thing sounds like. Talking about carb boots, havent done the wd-40 test on mine yet. they show light/moderate cracks. Has anyone tried the rubber tool dip? The kind you use for handles and such. As for the e-bay,that's just CRAZY man!!!!!!!!!

                    Boot repair

I thought about the tool handle dip idea, but in another thread a few years ago, we talked about it peeling off because of heat.

There is also the problem of not getting that stuff on the inside of the boots. You want to keep the inside bores clean and smooth.

The cracks may look kinda junky, but if there is no air being sucked in, they are OK.

I bought replacements boots from ebay, just 'cause I like the way they look. The cracks bothered me.

Now I just have to get the rest of Scorpion to look like the boots!

The boots on my 80G looked like crap. PO had tried to coat em with I don't know what. tried to remove it w/Laquer thinner, just made a sticky mess. 10 cents of electrical tape later and they look good as long as you don't get too close.

Have thought about shrink tube, should work

Can pretty well guess what happened Eric................previous bidder put in high amount to win................another bidder was running an automatic bidding program(there is one availiable for ebay use) which can easily snipe bids with 3 or less seconds left. Only problem, looks like he forgot to enter in a max on the program...............and seler should give him a neg. feedback for having to re-list.
