Patriot Guard Riders
I recently read about the Patriot Guard Riders and the service they provide to the families of Fallen Soldiers in Iraq and Afghanistan. You may have heard of the group of Nutcase "Baptists" from Kansas that protest at the funerals of soldiers and Marines killed in the "W.O.T." . The rationale behind the protest is that God is punishing the US with the war because of homosexuality. Not exactly what Christ would say or do, but no accounting for some idiots' interpretation of the Word of God. I digress. The Patriot Guard Riders place themselves strategically (and Peacefully) between the funeral and the protesters and shield the families and friends with singing, flag waving, chanting of patriotic and supportive slogans.
I signed up, and am just waiting to hear back from them. They have a coordinator for each state. You can find out more at :http://www.patriotguard.org/
Now I just gotta get the Battle Cruiser done. I laid on the first color coats last night. Needs color sanding and a few more coats before clear coat. Hopefully I'll be done by next week. It's looking pretty good so far.
