    From the mouth of babes

If you ride this type bike please don't take offense...but this story is true.

The wife and I were eating out at Chili's the other night. We sat at our table and she looked out at the parking lot. There were three Harley's (or Harley clones). The bikes had those leather tassels hanging off the end of the handlebars.

She saw them and exclaimed "Oh oh oh look look! Those are ladies bikes!" I said "Wha???" looking around trying to figure out what she had seen. She replied "Yeah you know when I was a little girl I put those tassels on the end of my bicycle handlebars!"

Oh my gawd I nearly fell out of the booth laughing ‘til I choked. If those “badd bikers” riding those things could've only heard what she said.

    Aah the brilliance of ignorance!

    Oh no!

I was just thinking of adding conches and latigo streamers to the end of my pullback bars but now you've shamed me out of it. Wouldn't want anyone to think it's a gurl's bike!

Hey Max, glad yer still kickin.
Heard a rumor: the size of a bikers penis is inversly proportional to the size of the rear tire on his bike.
XS650Mike- look forward to meating you at Solvang.

Old bikers never die, they're just out of sight!

My recently re-built, hopped up '79 Special caught fire and burned everything from the top of the engine up: gas tank, wiring, seat, & melted my windshield all over the front of the bike. Just bought a 1980 Special that has been non oped for 9 years. My Skoot will rise from the ashes and be re named "The Phoenix!"
      I've been riding since 1959.

my dad has a set of those for his clutch and brake levers on his Electraglide. i've only ridden it once with them on (New Years Day), and all they did was whip at my arms and get in the way. Quite annoying.
I'll never have 'em on any bike I own.

Wish I could but I doubt it this spring. We're really hooked up this spring with a trip planned to Florida and the advent of a new grandchild!

And regarding the tire size comment....IT'S TRUE IT'S TRUE.... Since I got this I've noticed I always feel like I just took a cold shower.

I hope that's not true, 'cuz I don't see any way to mount a tractor tire on my XS...

Well I just mounted a 140 section tire (a size larger than stock) and I haven't noticed any member shrinkage. If the rumor is true I suppose we're safe since that's as big a tire as will fit without hitting the shaft housing! Riding a bike with a raked-out front end with eentsy skinny tire on the front and giant wide on the rear will give you Popeye forearms though.

                      Problems with my rear tire.

I just don't know... I'm not satisfied with the rear tire that I have. Kinda skinny. Tried over-inflating it, to, you know, expand it a little, but... still doesn't perform right. Seems to lose power and just flop around when I encounter curves and soft shoulders. Doesn't hold well with use... or last too long, either. Think it's too soft... would like something harder.
I thought that the problem might be that my axle shaft was crooked... or that my nuts were too tight.
I thought about getting a new rim... but geez... I'd hate to have to go through life tubeless!

GNEPIG... the tire size thing is just a General Rule. While it applies in most cases, sadly, in case's like yours, it doesn't.

Sadly, too, is that these posts, with their underlying sexual overtones, sometimes bring out the true charactor of the writer. XSMike... take care when linking up with E. Liberty at Solvang. He mentioned that he's looking forward to "Meating" you.

I hope that I'm interpreting this incorrectly.
