  • Some Dull brains at Gillette, Schick

I remember having to shave with the single bladed razors, and the throw away kind in the NAVY. Then they came out with the twin blade design, and they worked a bit better, less knicking of the skin. Then they came out with the 3 blade design, and this seemed like the best razor yet, worked very well and shaved very cleanly, and safely cause the blade head was wider, and with more blades, the pressure seemed to be spread out more evenly across the skin, and it kept the proper shaving angle better, especially with that floating/rotating head!

This last year, they came out with a 4 blade design, one upsmanship!? Now I've seen some previews where they are promoting the arrival of a 5 blade razor, and I've also heard of a 6 blade...geez!!!

Curious if you guys, or ladies, use the 3 blade units, or have gotten "suckered" in to getting the 4 blade, and wonder if anybody is foolish enough to pay the kind of $$ for these upcoming multiblade razors?

4 and 6 pistons, YES, but 4 or more razor blades...rediculous!!

I actually used electrics for a very long time, and only switched to blades a year or two ago.

I have always used the Quattro, seems to work great, and is definitly cheaper than the electric (I think, no real evidence). Are you saying that a 3 bladed one is better, or at least the same? I go to sam's club for blades, and I don't think there is anything cheaper.
I've been in more than one Hemisphere, and I wrote a book to help you do it too (or just prepare better for that week long road trip). Going Small, not just for the little guys.

        blades

believe it or not the big shaving companys own all the battery companys

i have tried both the 3 and 4 blades jobbys.

my prefrence in the mach 3 by gillette with the "aaa" battery in the handle.

i had a coo-coo customer insist one day you can achieve the ultimate shave by using distilled water instead of tap.

I used the Mach3 while in the service. It did indeed seem a superior desine to my old Sensor. Then, however, the day came when my sentence in the service was up and I could once again allow my stubble to become the chin hair it had once been. Once, i had a goatee to maintain again, I found that the triple didn't edge as nice. I did see that they now have a three bladed version of the Sensor, which intrigues me. Bet, it all comes down to how much $$$$$$$$$$$$ you are willing to spend on that beautiful mug

For a long time Costco had KILLER deals on the sensor blades so that is what I have been using for a long time. It does a good job for the price.

I use two. I go from bearded in winter (and cooler riding weather) to clean shaven in warmer weather. I use the Mach 3 to shave off the beard then use a Braun the rest of the year (also use it to trim the beard). It's the only electric (and I've used most of the rest over the years) Ive owned the lasted more than a year.

best razor I've used was called a wire guide.
Has a single blade and a wire instead of the large plastic head. Works great for me because it doesn't get clogged as quickley and is easy to rinse out. The only problem is finding them.

Wow. There really IS a website for everything.

Got me a Mach3 when they first came out. Free sample handle and one blade cartrige in the mail.

Lasts over two months per blade with daily shaving. A single shick last exactly 4 shaves for me.

Bought a set of refills at sams...yah, it cost $24.00...but I've been using those same blades for close to 10 years now...I think I still have a couple left.

Sounded expensive at the time. Turned out it wasn't at all.

I may try the 5 or 6 if they are sampling or on sale when I run out of blades for this one. Then I won't have to worry it for another 10 years or so. LOL!

I've been using the Mach3 since it came out. I dont get quite 2 months on them though, maybe 3-4 weeks a blade. I grow tree trunks for hair, gets thick fast. Best razor I've ever used, hands down. Haven't tried the vibrating one.

I got one of those Quattro 4 blade razors in the mail. I might as well have used that knife in the picture up there. It tore my face up horribly. Two shaves with it and it went in the trash.

When they come out with the laser razor, then we'll see about close.
