went riding the other day...when i pulled into garage i noticed bike smelling hot..i'd been riding pretty hard so it wasn't a huge surprise...came out next morning and saw something wet under bike...fuel !!...after checking...evidently my tank is leaking at the seam...dammit..does anyone have or know where i can get a tank to fit a 79 std...iv'e ordered a por 15 motorcycle tank repair kit ..has anyone here tried it...regardless of how por 15 works i would still like to buy another tank if anyone can direct me...the inside condition is more important than outside...thanks to this site ... and good riding to all .. stevo

Check ebay.... and andreas from the forum usually has some pretty good deals.
Check for 78, 79, 80.... standard tanks... I think all were the same. The Venturer had a bit bigger gas tank, same looks. I think.

PS: check the fuel petcock. It may just make its way to the seam and drip from there. Check the petcock/fuel tank seal.If it doesn't have an engine, it's not a sport, it's only a game.

i'm ashamed to say it was only my fuel level sender seal leaking and running down the seam ...iv'e been to busy with other stuff to take care of my on stuff........thanks stevoComment
