Memorial Day weekend is out for me too, but I'd be open for the 1st or 2nd weekends in May. My SG needs a roadtrip

Let's go, and NOT wait to do a rally at the END of the riding season (Labor Day)

You know, guys, I don't think that everything we do has to be a huge event. Most of us go for a ride with no real destination just to be on the bike. Is there a fairly central location for the interested Nortenos to meet, so that a Sunday ride could be interrupted by lunch with other XSives? I know that Mike and company rode a long way last time; what would be a good rendezvous that is an easy reach for all or most? A couple of Sundays could lead to a real California Rally and not just more exhaust pipe dreams. Let's try an open restaurant this time...

Well let's see there's Andersen's near Solvang and Andersen's near Los Baños... LOL...

I wouldn't mind something closer this time for a lunch meet, say Alice's.

Or even better, Point Reyes Station.

          Or even Poser's Corner.

            Solvang Date

            Pat & Loho-
No date set yet, tho I hope to set one very soon so I can post a notice in a couple of cycle mag events calendars. I'm thinking the 2nd or 3rd weekend of May. Loho, I 'm glad you responded and hope you can make it: you too Pat!
            Stay tuned...

My recently re-built, hopped up '79 Special caught fire and burned everything from the top of the engine up: gas tank, wiring, seat, & melted my windshield all over the front of the bike. Just bought a 1980 Special that has been non oped for 9 years. My Skoot will rise from the ashes and be re named "The Phoenix!"

              Weekend meet

Oops! My last post was made before I read all the replies to my original post.

Alice’s Restaurant is a good bet for a weekend rendezvous, if you can find a place to sit: it’s a very popular biker stop. If you don’t know it is on Hwy. 35, a.k.a. Skyline Blvd. It’s a very popular sport bike playground. Skyline runs North & South along the ridge of the coastal range. There are a couple of spots where one can see the Pacific Ocean to the West, and the South Bay to the East. At its Southern end it connects to Hwy.9, which winds its way through the Redwoods and through my neighborhood. I’m very familiar with the roads around here, and would be delighted to host and act as guide to a small weekend rally of Xsive riders.

I live in a small humble cottage in Felton which is only about 6 miles north of Santa Cruz, and about 5 blocks from the legendary Hwy. 9. I could put up a couple of riders inside and one or two who might be into camping in our back yard. Beside that, Henry Cowell State Park is a very short walk from my place if anyone would care to camp there.

Oh yea, I read where there is an annual classic car and motorcycle show in Half Moon Bay on May 6th. The blurb I read made it sound like a pretty popular event for motorcycle affectionado’s. That might make an interesting and accessible meeting place for a weekend meet…’eh?

                I wanna do it...

Hey guys, I was wondering when the XSives on the West Coast would do a ride together. I've been wanting to meet some others with XS's and wanting to go on a trip other than just the canyon roads around here. I know there are others around here, but they don't seem to be involved much with this site. I'm ready for a road trip and this one isn't too long for the first for me and my XS.

Okay, so where is a fairly central location? The delta, Lodi, and Stockton are about midway between Fresno and Clear Lake. Anyone have any good spots in that area?

In the next couple of weeks, I'll get the particulars on a Yosemite ride/rally. We'll keep it simple, then get more complex as we team-build. Oh, and as the bikes keep running...(knock on wood)!

                    Making a showing...

Not quite the Delta but just to the north is the Lake Berryessa area and Napa Valley, great roads and scenery. Be fun to show up with a bunch of XSs at Poser's Corner!

I need to put in for vacation 2 months in advance. I probably won't make it now. Maybe next time.
