sorry to go on about the g model but can any one comfirm that the left hand side panel has round lugs and the right hand side panel has slots?????? it`s doin my head in.

From what I have seen here that is the case, and I think the right side is the same as the 79 Special. I have no idea why Yamaha did that. -

just double checked my 80G. slots right, round left.
