Everyone and everybike is welcome. If someone has a favorite road we can give it a shot, or not. As a reminder, it only gonna be in the mid 50's Saturday and a chance (yeah, right) of rain. Not a problem for us full faired bike riders.

Cool deal! Yea, the little lady is the one that wanted to learn how to ride so she is the reason I picked up the XS and got into motorcycles. So we are kind of into the bike thing together! Wouldnt feel right without her. And ... she might get pissed! heh

The 50's is a bit cool but we can layer. We also picked up some cheap rain gear that we can store in the back pack in case of rain! None the less I plan on brining my bike for sure!

Being a recent transplant from Albuquerque, 50's this time of year is down right tropical! I am sure though that even an Albuquerque winter has nothing on Maine in the winter. (I usually start looking at the cage when the morning starts out at 10-15 degrees) Kinda like these mild Texas winters, so far.

Cold temps

Hey Steve. I have been here for over 17 years now, but I still get a kick out the locals complaining about how cold it is when the temps are in the 40's and 30's. Hell, I remember on the first day of school we would have to wear coats, and it woud be cold enough to see your breath. Many times there was snow on the ground for halloween, and our we wore our costumes over our heavy winter clothes. I don't ride in the cold as much as I did a few years ago, mostly because my back doesn't like the cold any more, but I still ride to work when it's in the 40's. There is a guy from Waterville that works for American Airlines here with me, only he's a bag handler (bagrat), but he wears shorts almost every day. He says the same thing I do...'this ain't cold...I'll tell you when it gets cold". We have had an excetpionally warm winter here, and that has allowed me to ride a lot this winter. I have been able to put over 1400 miles on since late October, mostly riding to work and back. I laugh at how the locals complain about the cold, but on the other hand, how would all of the Maine-iacs handle weeks of temps in the 100's? I have experienced many of those also, and they are a real BITCH! It's so hot that it feels like riding in an oven, not very pleasant. $300 electric bills from running the A/C so much, really suck, but so do the huge heating oil bills that y'all face this time of year.

arizona native, living in tx. mid 50's plus windchill gets my a bit nippy. and yes, all y'all northeastern folks would cry in 112. 1990-i had a flight thru phoenix cancelled cos it was 119 and the runway was melting planes' tires. beat that. mark
