Just curious as to how many members are going to go see this movie. I know it's not about an XS but it is about a man who loved his machine and loved to work on it as well as ride it. Personally I am looking forward to seeing this movie. Maybe it will motivate me to get the tank and fenders off my bike and get them painted.

I plan on seeing it, just not sure when. I'll probably have to wait until I get back from my "business trip" to Europe. 16 days there for 4 days of work

It looks like it's going to be a great movie. The previews I've seen so far have been great.

I hadn't known his story before hearing about the movie, but have looked into it since. He did some amazing stuff in his time, for sure!

Did I hear the preview correctly? Why do you do it? Because 3 minutes on the back of a motorcycle is worth a lifetime of not on one.

        Something like that.

Seems I've been out of the movie circuit longer than I thought. I hadn't heard of this movie until this post. I'll definately have to take SWMBO and check out this flick.

.. took the family to see this movie today, I loved it!
its not the greatest movie i have ever seen, but its the best motorcycle movie i have ever seen. Anthony Hopkins was good, and he almost resembles the real guy. even the wife and kids liked it. this fellow Munro made his own engine(injun) parts, a very resourceful person.
                  .. I recommend seeing it!

The damn thing isn't playing within 300 miles of me. I did however go to a small antique motorcycle museum in Port Orford, OR a couple weeks back. The old guy who owns the place new Munroe back in the day. Said he used to stay with him every once in a while or come looking for parts. He also used to drag old indians down in the valley (CA) somewhere. He too used to make his own engine components. Cool old guy. If any of you are are around the southern OR coast it is worth a stop. I took some pics and if I ever get the little brochere scanned I'll post all of it.

Saw the movie today. It's a "MUST SEE" for anyone who likes bikes, life, or just a very good movie. They did a great job with it, showing all sides of Munro, and the path he took to run the bike the first time. I now need to find someone to take on the back of the bike to see it.

                        Bad distribution

My friend Ducati Tim came up here from Mill Valley a couple of weeks ago. Saw the film down in San Rafael and raved about it. Was going to treat SWMBO and I to see the thing. Checked the local theaters and found it wasn't playing here or in any of the surrounding counties. Called the multiplex in Lakeport (a drive-in theater too, same management) and complained. This is the most motorcycle riding and hot rodding place I've ever lived since I was a kid in L. A. The speedway is packed every Saturday night all summmer long. Are they nuts? No wonder theater owners complain no one goes to the movies anymore, they aren't showing films people want to see. No I don't wanna see Brokeback Mountain, I wanna see World's Fastest Indian!

Tim bought us a 12-pack of Steinlager (New Zealand beer) and we drank it in honor of Burt Munro...

(On a ride a we did a few weeks ago Britbike Jim had a flat on his Harley. We were in the mountains and nobody's cell phone worked so we were stuck until Kawi Tom came back with his truck. SWMBO now constantly refers to our little adventure on "Brokebike Mountain".)
