  • Need New Garage

I need bigger garage because as of April of 2005 I had 3 cars and no motorcycles. Now I have 3 cars and 4 motorcycles. All yamahas 1-81 XV750, 1-78 XS1100E, 1-79 XS1100F,and 1-82 XJ1100. Thinking about selling the 81 XV750 because the parts won't fit on the xs's. Also the 1100s are just better bikes. Just got the 78, has bad control box on it. The circuit board is broke in two places but am going to use the79 for parts bike.

So you're saying SWMBO already nixed the idea of parking her car out on the driveway? Would sure save a lot on construction costs...

SWMBO and I are designing our house to be built, and what it looks like we're going to wind up with is a two car garage attached to the house, and a three car garage out back. The two car garage will be for our cars ((aka - my junk)) and the three car garage will be for the bikes and our workshop.

ya i'm designing a house also, looks like i'll end up with a 6x6 foot room for the bed and 130,000 sq. feet of bike storage area. Plus a pole barn to store more stuff, also looking into a 120x120 foot shed to put my other stuff into,oh ya the hot plate can sit on top of the dresser.....

I just erected a workshop/storage (garage) in the backyard just before Christmas.
12'x17' metal shed with a roll-up door on one end. Insulated with 1/2" coated styrofoam. Squirrel-cage fan (leftover from old furnace) to suck-out hot air in summer (and BSing year-round).
Todays project is running electricity to it. Gotta get rid of the extension cord.
Did my valve adjustment in there for it inagural project.
Currently the bikes are under the 10'x20' tarp/canopy/portable garage from Costco. It works surprisingly well. It will be moved to just outside the roll-up door of the new garage once the cement slab is poured.

the xj11 was what started this disease. The more that 1100 bug gets in your blood all you want is more 1100s-more 1100s. And no doctor in the world can cure it, all you can do is pray to the1100 gods for good weather, good roads, good riding friends and more 1100s and some place to put them. Good thing i didn't catch this bug back in 78, because then i would have wound up with one of each of them. Maybe even two each. I have to boost up my moral with 1100s because i am being slowly surronded by hd guys. Both neighbors on each side of me just got new hds, and my daughter and son in law both have them things. But what they don't know is i can leave them in the dust with my OLD motorcycles. I will take them out for a ride this summer and show them what these 1100s will DO.
