What a nice day for a ride. South Dakota, Middle of January, Almost 50 degrees. I think I'll throw the battery in and go for a ride. Got it all done and fired her up. Sounding really good. Motor purrin like a kitten getting scrtched behind the ears. She's ready to go, I'm ready to go. Here we go. Get to the gas station and put some fresh fuel in. I'm happy, Bikes happy. Time to roll. Boy,, It just doesn't seem like she's rollin right. Stop on the side of the road. Feel the rear disk. Hot enough to cook a full course meal. let it cool. Dosn't unlock. Oops, Can't get the side cover off because I didn't bring my 14mm wrench to pull the seat first. ( custom Mustang seat, Sides overhang the covers just enough to not pull off ) Ride looks like it aint happinin today. Roll about 6 blocks, let it cool, Roll another 6 blocks or so, and let it cool. Boy this is going to take awhile to get home. get about 1 mile frome the house and stop to let it cool. Gentleman stops with a pair of pliers. Remove bleader screw and she rolls just fine. Thank the man for the use of pliers and talk bikes for about 1/2 hour. Baby the bike home useing only the front brake. O'well,, More riding days are ahead. Looks like it's time for the ol' complete brake job. Learned one thing outta this. I will always carry a 14 mm wrench in the fairing pouch.

Rear brake on my E hasn't worked since last May. Got a rebuild kit 6 months ago. I'll have to fix that someday.
I don't think I've used my rear brake in 6-7 years (other than to flash my brakelight for vehicles comming-up behind me at a light).Pat Kelly

I've recently had the same thing happen on my XJ. All I did was unbolt the caliper, squeeze brake untill the piston popped out, then clean the piston and caliper bore with a shotchbrite pad. Next, flushed everything with brakefluid, reassmybled and bled the brakes. It worked so good I'm going out to do the other front and the back brake this afternoon. I always thought the bike was hard to push around just because of it's heavy weight. Now i find that it was just dragging brakes.-Tom.05 Suzuki Bandit 1200S
