  • moving to Elpaso, should i sell?

    hello all,

i have rejoined the list after being away for some 7 years.

i am planning a move to Elpaso Texas and wonder how many folks are in that area of the country.

I also have considered selling my XS1100SH (1981) to a local collector, but my stomach turned when he offered me $1200. was wondering if that was a fair price, or am i going crazy? (bike is in excellent shape)

you see, i am not in good health, and I am most overwhelmed by the move down...trying to take as little as possible. after logging back into the X11 site, NOW I AM GETTING REALLY NOSTALGIC (sp?). Can someone talk me out of this crazyness? (about selling that is... I'll end up in Elpaso if I have to walk..)

Don't sell the bike if you don't want to. Even if you aren't able to ride (for health reasons) the bike is still there and kharma may point to the next keeper of your bike.
That aside, as you know, you don't need a bike to be an XSive.

Texas offers some great rides...for the most part year around (for instance, it's 80 degrees out right now...just back from riding.

If you feel you'll regret it, don't do it. Otherwise, ya gotta do what ya gotta do.

I know what a stressful thing moving is...did it a lot. Dunno what your health issues are but I'm still riding in spite of stuff that made a lot of others give up riding. Thought I would have to stop a few years ago because of back pain but medication and chiro fixed that issue pretty well. Now I have more pain from a long car trip than a long bike trip...go figure. Got some other problems as well but I'm not going to stop riding as long as I can walk to the garage. Keep the bike until you're absolutely sure you want to pass it on.
