  • Finally, a good movie!

You guys see "King Kong" yet? I am a big fan of the original, and as a 15 year old really enjoyed the first 1979 re-make. But the current one...Oh man...
OK, the first hour or so tends to drag a little but as soon as the party gets to Skull Island, hang on to your seat. Sure there were about four corny parts, but they were quickly followed by moments of terror, panic, wierdness, and awesome special effects. If you haven't done so yet, I reccomend you go see this one.

"T'was beauty that killed the beast."

Ahhh... the original Kong! I though it was a little "racey", what with those female natives wearing those coconut shell bras, and such. Loved it when I finally saw the uneditted version, where it showed Kong actually stepping on people and then grinding them into the ground with his foot. Had planned to see this one in three weeks when it comes on base for .99 cents. Nice thing about military theaters... you can bring in your own food and they won't throw you out for eating Burger King. "Kong... the Eighth Wonder of the World!"

I'm planning on seeing it. I'm a big fan of the original though I thought the Dino de Pretentious version sucked eggs big time. BION my mother went to high school (Hollywood High) with Faye Wray.

Yuppers! "All those who, for moral or religious beliefs, do not wish to stand for the National Anthemn, please move now to the lobby. The movie is about to start." (that's always a bad time to leave your seat to go get popcorn!)

            Another Good Movie!

            Well,

We went to see this next production from the CGI masters PIXAR,
"CARS" ! ! ! A great big TWO THUMBS UP!!

Apologies for the size of this picture, but it's the only size they
had that I could link to directly from their website.
Some of the so called movie critics have only given it 2.5 stars,
something about being a bit slow paced, but it takes time to
teach kids a moral lesson! I will definitely be adding it to my
DVD collection, so I can see all of the little funny quips and stuff
that I missed watching it this first time.

Even though Speed McQueen/Owen Wilson is the lead "Car"acter,
I think Tow-Mater/Larry-Cable Guy steals the show, hook, line and winch! hehehe, double pun there!

Now, IF Pixar would only make a movie about Motorcycles?!

There's one scene where "Porscha" and Speed are driving thru some wonderful twisties in the western mountains, IF anyone
knows if those were based on REAL roads, and where they are, I
be there on my next summer rally!!

Hey TC. Did you know that one of our very own works for Pixar?
Would you care to guess who it may be?

I think I remember someone saying something like that,
is he MixelPix? Well, hopefully the seed idea has been planted?

Hmm...don't suppose he can get me a job there, yes?

                  (tons of rendering/workflow/imaging experience)

What Pixar does right (well, most right...they do a LOT of
things right) is simple: story first. THEN they make it pretty.

I'd sure love to work for a company that does things right.

                      Didn't like Kong

I went to see King Kong. I thought it was a total bore. How about a new idea? This one's been done..three times now.

                      I hated this one.

                        Remakes

                        Hi Marty,
that's 4 KKs if you count De Laurentis' "KK lives" Gotta love a Jarvik artificial heart the size of a jeep even if it was the only memorable part of the show.
Can you count the remakes of Seven Samurai? Last one I saw was done in outer space & starred Napoleon Solo and John-Boy Walton.
If you want to see a really good movie check out "The World's Fastest Indian"
                        It's got bikes in it.
