I am a relatively new to this list (about 4 months) but I notice that the classified ads are here today and gone tomorrow. DO they get purged every so often?

No, they just have problems. If you need something, just ask. If you want to sell something, just preface it, and put it here if it's XS1100 parts/bikes.
