    ?

don't take this the wrong way there Bandit. but i would first learn to walk before you run. Nitrus used properly can give you bang for the buck (no really) first get to truly know your bike and how things work and why. Get those 11's on the motor first. Work on basics, staging leaving, tuning (for optimal proformance). then worry about the fake speed things. Now i'm sure this will create some debate but stock our bikes are not to ready for NOS. The fuel system needs to be addressed, then the timing needs help stock cam chains are on the punny side . for maybe 25-50 horse ok but other then that i would seriously look at money mods to take larger doses. forged cranks pistons, electric fuel pumps and a dedicated fuel supply for the NOS rev limiters timing delays/retardand the list goes on. Like stated before if you want to go that fast buy a newer crotch rocket.for less money then making your bike less faster.

yeah true chevy there is alot of stuff to run nitrous i thought maybe if i could get into the 11s with it i would be happy but if the motor aint going to hold up i will just big bore the bike and cam it and exhaust and not worry about the nitrous but i dont know what all it is going to take to get the bike into the 11s with out the bottle and a turbo and thats why i was thinking about nitrous

        Bandet,

Have you tried shifting the bike at different rpm's? Or do you just shift right before redline?

I don't know about the 1100's yet but my 850 (actually 826cc lol) puts down its peak power at 7,500 but redlines at 9,000.

Now I am a firm believer in a dyno, it lets you know where exactly the power is and twisting a bike past that point is useless and puts needless stress on the engine. I have been around drag racing all my life and driving since I was 15, its all about the launch and that 60 ft. Getting the launch down and the 60ft times down will only make your e.t better.

Practice launching the bike, and I don't know if you can on an xs but tying the forks on motorcycles helps. just my .02

no i really havent tried different rpms for shifting but i have not had the bike on a dyno yet so i just shift when the bike starts falling off but my tack aint them most accrect so i need to try to get that fixed so i know where i am shifting but i thought about getting a shift light and shift when it comes on so i dont have to watch a tack and try to make shifting at the same rpms every time

but i think when i get everything done to the bike this winter the bike will be a stronger running bike and i will have to try different rpms next summer at the track

            NO2

There’s a link on one of pggg's posts that goes to a place that will let you know what you need to do the set-up your self on the cheep! (top speed chain drive???)

BUT, nitrous (if I ever get that far) is the last thing on my list for "go fast".

first, turbo (hope to have before end of summer)
            chain drive(some time after turbo)
            big bore/cams etc.. after that
            no2

since I have a 2nd XS1100, I need to see which I want to keep stock. Souped up engines have short lives so would no want to drive regularly and I have a history of breaking things.

i will be up there as soon as i get the winter project done to it this winter i mean i need to finsh painting it and a new clutch and springs and just a few other little things and i am sure it will be in the 12s first pass out in the spring since this was my first season racing the bike and i had a few issues i was working out this last season but the fastest i got was a 13.282 i mean there are a few power and perfomance thing this winter and it will be running stronger then ever

i just got to get the title and plate and insurance back on it and i will be ready to go
