    My Latest Acquisition

I decided to drive down to Indiana and purchase a street legal sand rail. 1600 engine. It needs ball joints, and the carb replaced or rebuilt (Old Holley 5200 2-barrel progressive carb). There is a Michigan Dune Buggy swap meet on the 16th that I'll go to to see if I can find some parts. I'm also selling one of my XS750's, as I don't ride it, so maybe some of that money goes towards the buggy.

    Hi Ian,

This is one I built in the late Nineties and sold 5 or 6 years ago, was a 1600 dual port also. Not street legal but fun. Ran out of places to ride and the nearest was 45 miles one way so it just became too inconvenient. Really enjoyed the build more than the riding anyway.

    1979 XS1100SF (stock-euro mods planned)
    1984 XV700L Virago (to be hot-modded)
    1983 XJ750MK Midnight Maxim (semi-restored DD)
    1977 XS650D ( patiently awaiting resto)

Sometimes it takes a whole tank of gas before you can think straight.

Ian, I grew up wrenching VW bugs. The coolest motor ever built. Great find. I always wanted a VW powered BMW.

I trailered the buggy home. I have a few things on the agenda before pics come.
