          Early August...

That would be much better for us. SWMBO's birthday is at the end of August, so a long weekend before hand would be a wonderful break.

Bandit or Chevy, since you guys know about the location, could I get a rough estimate on the mileage from Columbia SC? Thanks,

            milage for street rat

street you are looking at almost 900 miles give or take a few miles

and the location of the rally is union grove Wi 53182 or that is where the dragstrip is anyways and everything is with in 20 miles from it

              Only thing is this

Like i stated in previous post. This is for you mainly Bandit. If you truely want to drag race great, but all the race tracks cater to the all mighty dollar. Any weekend they are having any kind of race be it high school drag or harley shootout, or whatever, unless you pay the $50 your time runs could number 1. That means sitting in line waiting for hours to make ONE (1) pass down the quater mile.Thats the only reason i was going for late in the season. go to greatlakesdragaway.com and look at the 2005 sched. it will give you a very good estimate of the 2006 sched. If you look closly the opening weekend is in april and is free to race (still have to pay to enter the grounds around 15 bucks) but costs no more to race. they do have fun racing durring the week nights though? Just remember theese are farm lands out here and a fri night during aug can and does draw like 300 plus cars bikes and trucks. this last weekend i went temps in the 40's there were over 150 cars racing and a line at the gate for more to come in. I will keep trying to contact the higher ups at the track and see what other options we have. Will shoot for early Aug. keep our fingers crossed.

oh i understand i got 3 tracks i can race at within 45 min from my house and i know the cooler the weather is the morepeople that come out too since there cars will make more power and if you could get ahold of the upper ups at the track you might see if they would hold a motorcycle only saturday since i know they do a harley night you never know they might like the idea i know our tracks have special events like that and it is a big turnout

I'm not sure about others but Aug is as late as I could make it. Kids start school in Sept.
Like I said earlier, I probably won't be able to go but I've already started whining

i won't be dragging either. made some concessions to the wife to get the bike, making more for a trip like this. now if she ends up not going along....

Don't think I'll be dragging either. More looking forward to the ride up and meeting some of you fine chaps. Not saying I wouldn't enjoy watching a drag, but I really doubt I'll be doing any of it myself.

Chevy/Bandit ... thanks for all the work you two guys are putting into this, keep us posted.
