  • Carb tools, where to buy

    Hi folks,

I want to buy a mercury stick and a colortune. Is the Motorcycle colortune the right size for my xs or do I need an adapter? Where would be the best place to buy this stuff?

    Thanks,

    Jake

The carb sticks are the important thing. unless you've done some mods to the bike, that should be all you need. You can get them at most local bike shops, or you can probably get the vacum gauge type from a few online places like JCW.
The colortune can be used if you are into getting the very most out of the bike. I just look at the plugs, and check the color on my own. A light tan is what you want to see. brown to black is rich, white or blisterd looking white is lean.

      Jake,
you can get the Mercury carb sync set at BikeBandit

I got this same set last year (thanks for the tip Pat Kelly) and have sync-ed my carbs several times, and *WOW* what a huge power surge afterwards!
