"guy on the radio doesn't know what the hell he's talkin' about"

unfortunatley I know what he's talking about. I've lost over 30% of my customers because they could not be competitive if they kept there business located in the Bay Area. Most moved out of Ca.. Many out of the USA, some to Nevada or Texas, a few out to the valley. And ever year my insurances/insurances/taxes/taxes/and taxes have gone up!!! City/county/state and fed just can't get enough. I have to pay the police for an alarm permit, the fire department for compresset gas permits, this and that city for this and that, county bis property taxes, weight fees on my registration for my work vans. Taxed for each employee, (not counting employee taxes or uninployment taxes)Theres no end. Un fu**ing belivable the paper work gov. demands.

    Screw CA

plan to retire as soon as my youngest is out of the house.
If you don't work, CA is a great place.
    Plan to ride and fish
Everything else will have to wait!!!!!!

Yeah it's really tight down in the Bay Area especially. I still wonder who the hell is buying all those houses though. I read that the population in California is still growing, can't all be illegals.

A lot of people like me up here who cashed out of the Bay Area instead of leaving the state. If I hadn't come here I'd be in western Nevada. Glad I'm here though.

      What line are you in?

I'm a distributor for industrial cleaning machines.
We sell and service equipment powered with diesel/gas/LPG and battery. Like a forklift company but for sweepers and scrubbers.
( rider equip sells for $12,000 to $50,000)
One of the ways I know (and feel) when money in the bigger companies gets tight is that my products are the first thing most will cut back on.

I have a meeting with a guy today who's looking at a used sweeper I'm rebuilding. 10 years ago I could get 16 to 20,000 for it. Hope to get aleast 12,000 now.

btw politics/work suck - here for the bikes and a little fun. Once I get my xs back up to par I would like to run up to your neck of the woods. Been all over CA. at one time or anouther. But have missed Alteras? (up in the north east) and for some reason have never been to clear lake.

You're missing a lot, Clear Lake's only about maybe 3 hours from Haywire uh Hayward. (Sorry about that, people in SF used to joke about Hayward being full of biker cranksters.) Be sure to let me know if you're coming up this way, I can show you around and SWMBO will cook you a great dinner. Got a spare bedroom too!

just posted on the other thread. Would very much like to ride up to your neck of the woods.

I don't have a regular schedule. Never know much in advance how much time I can take off. Sometimes have to work weekends, but pay off is being able to take off during the week a few days and on nice days I leave after lunch for a local ride.

If I can get a little warning I'll contact you about stopping by.

            Thanks
