Reserve lighting?

Any one know exactly what the reserve lighting unit is? Is this referring to bikes with accessories? I don’t think my special has this unit or it was removed. But I am not sure.

The reserve lighting unit will turn on the "high" beam if the low beam has burned out. If you install an LED bulb as I have, you need to bypass the unit.
