Electrical component missing?

Help! On removing the carbs for a service, I noticed this connector. Surely something should plug in here?


79 Special ... the previous owner(s) seem to have dabbled with the electrics. The photos show the left hand side near top of the battery (removed). The rear indicators/blinkers are missing off the bike, but would they plug in here?

It looks like the previous owner removed an bypassed the reserve lighting unit (RLU). Many guys do that when the unit fails. Bypassing the two blue wires (which is probably what your first picture is showing), will restore the headlight function.
