    Swapping cams

    Hello all:

Would it be possible to put cams from one 1979 head into another 1979 head?

Can I use the cam caps from the one 1979 head into another 1979 head?

    cheers,
    Ronnie.

Cams should not be a problem, I'm sure there is a tolerance specification in the manual that you have to measure on the bearing surfaces.
Generally cam caps are matched to the cylinder head, they line bore them together when they are built. It's not recommended to use cam caps from one head on another.

Thank you for the info. I will use the same cam caps on the same head.

Update: I now have the original cam caps from the guy I bought the head off.
Now a line bored matched set.

        Thank you,
        Ronnie.
