Hi all ! My friends and I went on a trip last weekend down to lake pepin wisc. My buddy was on a 05 suzuki bandit 1300 and was looking for trouble when we locked horns for a few top gear roll ons at 75mph. And I can say in all honesty I waxed him. When I ran out of rpm's I looked in my mirror and he finely reeled me in. we backed down to 70 , He gestured to drop 1 gear and try again. There he was once again sucking hind tit. He was a little closer this time. Say 3 bike lengths. Then he wanted to go down to third gear and at 70 mph my motor was realy singing. So I gave that bandit hell. Now we ran side by side.When we got to Maden rock and stopped for a warm drink, He stated ," that old bike flys" I told him "you dam right ! You built it!" So here's to Tommy at "Cycle Shop " One darn good mechanic And Mike over at " V Tech" in Ramsey Mn. Who bored and ground my valve angles. I wont hold it against him that hes a Harley Machinest. If you need help these guys know their stuff! (my ride 1179 xj)

Man, I would have liked to have been there to see that. What kind of mods do you have on your bike. I ask because my daughter's fiance has a '92 Bandit 1200 that I'm postive my '81H can't nearly hang with. I rode the Bandit one time and know that it has way more torque and roll-on accelleration in any gear than my bike does. Perhaps this is an indicator that my bike is not in a great state of tune, or perhaps, your bike has some extensive mods. I would love to have my bike have the get-up and go to outrun that Bandit.

Role on mods !

My 82 1100 is bored out to 1179cc with wiesko pistons, ind k&n's new valves, seats ground, angles unknown , shims were aroung 200 to 220 real thin!(took several days to find the right ones. "stock" exhaust !! All tranny guts 1 year old. Other than that -stock. Don't misunderstand I didn't beat him from drag race -role on. I believe he has stock oem gearing. Carbs stock jets117.5 if memory is correct. I can't believe I beat him myself! the machinest "MIKE" has a dyno, I should get him to run it up ! Than I could post actual numbers. Hang loose !
