Oh, I still wear the mesh textile pants. Now I look like a power ranger instead of a rock star. I like my skin, I want to keep it a while longer

If I wanted to look cool I'd just wear a beanie, tank top, jeans and chaps like all the Harley guys do around here. Wonder why they even bother with the chaps? Actually a lot of 'em wear shorts! Except when it's too cold to wear tank tops and shorts, then they don't ride at all!

        paint

Got rid of the maroon, and did a black metallic. Last spring got tired of that and did the Chameleon Paint thing. The red/blue color shift was interesting, but at the wrong angle it took on a lovely shade of purple. I put up with that for a month and then did the quick Walmart enamel flame job.
Didn't have time to repaint this spring, but project for this winter... submerge tank in thirty gallon garbage can of water, spread several colors of either oil-based or acrylic paint on the surface, and lift tank through it for a swirl-job. Just to see...

I sold my Langlitz leathers pants because as older guy often do, I got thicker...

I still have the jacket. I was in Langlitz Leathers shop a few weeks back and a new jacket that would fit me was $1000, I dind't ask about the pants to go with it.

Maybe someday I can buy 2 grand worth of leathers without worrying about the money...

              found a purple pic

Leather pants, purple paint, no goatee.
              Chameleon Paint.
Looks blue in the pic now, but I swear if you stare long enough, it'll shift to purple. (startin' to go purple on the curved front and top of the tank)

                Leather and Purple...

I've got the leather coat and chaps with the Mad Max boots and a pair of cowboy boots I wear from time to time. As I said before, I just can't pull off the leather pants look. As far as the purple goes, my bike's PO did the Wal-Mart flame job. Black with purple flames on the fiaring, tank, side covers, and all three bags. That's my winter project ... repainting!!! I'm not too big on purple. Not to mention the fact I need to repaint my tank due to gasoline damage caused by my left petcock. Figured while I'm at it, why not just repaint the whole thing.

                      Leather chaps

What was the original cowboy intent with chaps? Rain offa legs? Protect legs when riding through brush? When fallin' offa a horse, one lands straight down; on a bike, one slides on one's arse. I'll stick with the pants.
Chaps (half pants), makes as much sense as wearin' those half-helmets.

Protect legs riding through brush. Maybe I'm stupid but I wear a half helmet most of the time except in bad weather.

                          What's with the chaps, Chaps?

While dress leather pants look OK on the ladies, I doubt I'd ever wear them. Riding leathers are another matter, nobody want's road rash. But chaps? Sure they protect what they cover, it's what they don't cover that concerns me. As a rider sits in the rain the uncovered area is subject to soaking and then to evaporative cooling. Brrrrr.

                              chaps

just got mine from ebay 16 dollars. Love them. So what i like to ride in 40 degrees weather. And colder. I don't give a $hit what i look like. My legs get cold when i ride that cold and colder actually.I don't wear them for sliding on my @ss. I don't like snowmobile suits or need leather pants , chaps give my legs the warmth i require , if that makes me senceless oh well, same could be said for people that go sliding around on there @ss in stead of paying attention and keeping it on two wheels. well time to strap on the chaps and go for a ride....it's 41 degrees here but work dosent care how cold it is...

Actually, I don't much mind riding in the rain, and clouds don't bother me at all. I actually prefer a slightly overcast day because the sun makes me squint, which reduces visability.

But, I have to say ... all this talk about road rash on the regions my chaps DONT cover has me thinking seriously about buying a pair of leather pants.
