I just went down to Tuscon last weekend and picked up a 1980 xs11. I was a little nervous at first because I have never ridden anything over 500cc before. It handled a bit "jumpy" after a test ride I told a friend, "that's a lot of motor."

As it needs a little work, I have only ridden it in the neighborhood. The last week the bike still felt a bit "jumpy" and until today I did not know why. After reading the clymer's manual, I found out that the rear shocks were set on their highest setting as well as the spring seats. I set them for what clymers said a single rider should be for, and boy what a difference It rides super smooth and I can hardly wait to get it ready for more than neighborhood riding.

      Hey Repper
I have to agree with you. It is a lot of bike. I'm 64 yrs old and never rode anything bigger than a 600. I picked up this 80 xs11 std. this summer. I did a little tinkerin' and now I ride like the wind. Can't imagine anyone not wanting to keep one. I was impressed with the power and the ride isn't bad either. I'm with you. Ride and enjoy.
