After obsessively working on my new bike for the last 3 weeks I was finally able to go for a ride. I took several short rides around town to shake things down. It was 80 here in Omaha yesterday so I took off and went about 100 miles. Nice day for a ride and the bike did pretty good. It still has some issues one of which is a high idle (2500 rpm) once it is warm. I know I need to clean the carbs but don't want the bike out of comission while we are having this great weather. I have a couple of pics of the bike that I wouldn't mind putting up if someone could assist me.

Load your pics to a free site called Photo Bucket. Once they're there, you have three options.. Tag, Url, and Img. Copy that Img address. Back here in your post, above where you post your reply, there's several buttons, hit the one that says IMG. Get rid of that HTTP://, and paste the address from your photo there. Hit OK. Done.

For $200 bucks you say? You did really good! I paid way more for Rustbucket.
My bike does run perfectly though.Shiny side up,

I have only had it 3 weeks but it is getting there. It will also run perfectly when I am done. Can't wait until I get to that point.Harry

Mike...
Where did you get your leather saddle bags? Are the marketed for the XS11 or some other bike?
I've been looking for a set very similar to the ones you have and would like to score a set. I have the 3 hard bags that match my fairing, but I only put those on when I'm making a long distance ride. For putting around the county, I prefer to just ride it bare.
Let me know if you can.
Thanks,~ Street Rat ~

Leather Saddlebags
They are very similar to some carried by J. C. Whitney for about $130, maybe a little cheaper for the plain ones. I got them a few years back at a local clothing store that carries motorcycle leather. The owner was closing 'em out for $79. This particular large size set hangs too low for Harleys with pipes running down the right side so he had trouble selling them. I got the matching toolbag and sissy bar bag from J. C. Whitney. I've used these saddlbags on all my Yamaha Specials and just switch 'em from bike to bike. The nice thing is that they match the upsweep of the pipes perfectly and the angle of the shocks too. They just throw over the bike and you can install the seat over them. I had to enlarge the cut-outs in the yoke slightly to make them fit the 1100. The Whitney catalog says the cut-outs are to clear your turn sigs but they really clear the seat hold-downs. The width of the yoke is easily adjustable on these type bags. The bottom of the bags just clears the mufflers by about 1/4" but that has been no problem. You will need to relocate the rear sigs to the license bracket if you haven't done so already.Shiny side up,
