  • NYC help??

    This is work related, but I'm usually at work when I'm on the site anyway
    We need a space to lease in or very near New York City. My job is running experiments with cosmic radiation, and we need a location we can rent space. The space HAS to be top floor, be it a one story or 60 story building. other than that, it should be secure, so the computer doesn't walk away, and have a DSL or network connection available.
    If you know of someone who can help, please reply or send me an email at work:
    ray.matteis@xilinx.com .
    The bonus is I get to go out and set it up, so we can talk XS11's.

    That sounds like an interesting job.

    I assume it would be a measuring station of some sort being as you need a top floor. I only know what little I've read about cosmic rays over the years. Just curious about the technology.

    I would love to work in such a non-standard field.

      Cosmic ray detection needs a rooftop?
      In Sudbury Ontario there is a multi-million dollar facility that looks for neutrinos.
      It's a half-mile underground in an old nickel mine.
      Weird ennit?

        Yeah;
        You need to go deep to find the neutrinos. The array I install is looking to see what the protrons and neutrons do to our devices. I hjope I can find someplace in NYC, or close by, to install the array. The fun will be the company paying for airfair and hotel, and I can hopefully have dinner and a beer wit han XSessive
