Yes, the FJR1300 was the bike I was refering to. I forgot that it was a 1300 and not a 1200. The one I was looking at also had a set of bar risers on it. It's too bad bikes don't have regular handbars any more. It makes them much harder to tune the comfort for the rider.

    Geezer

My first bike was my 750 K. I'd put ~10k mi (bringing it to a tot of 22k mi) on it before the cams went. They sort of do need to get oil to them, I guess. Up till then, it was a solid bike and fun as hell to ride. It just fit.

I've yet to ride my XS. Got it this summer and worked on it periodically until I got shoulder surgery in Aug. That stopped my wrenching for a while. Once spring hits and she's all back up and ready to rock, I hope she's as good a ride as my CB.

        Hondaslamming

I saw nothing untoward in the replies John got. Certainly the concensus was that Jardine 4 into 2 pipes were aesthetically challenged but everyone's aesthetic opinion has the same value, zero.
But now we have segued into slamming Honda VF750Fs
Oh yes, let me join in.
They are like fighter planes, many hours in the hangar for each one in the sky.
This is OK for the factory maintained race bike the thing originally was but to simply slap lights on it and sell it as a street bike?
        Bad move.
You can't access anything without dropping the motor.
The suggested method to remove the carbs is with a prybar.
Take off the alternator cover and the engine oil runs out.
To replace the final drive oilseals you must first remove the waterpump.
The camchain tensioners crap out for a pastime and retiming the thing is a nightmare.
The plastic body parts cost like carbon fibre-epoxy but shatter like age-hardened bakelite.
Admittedly it goes like snot when it's running. Keeping it running is a bitch.
I got one tarped down in my back yard.
        Someone make me an offer?

FJR 1300s are getting a dubious rep down here for excess heat coming from under the fairing when the weather warms up, apart from that have not heard of any probs.

V4 Hondas have a problem in the manual that was sold here, cam timing is not right, following the book will get you bent valves.
