  • Can an XS11 get respect at a Vintage Bike event?

Mine did! My bike certainly wasn't the oldest (I think the 1913 Harley takes that prize) or the nicest (I think the Vincents take that one) but the ol' XS got some respect. Even before the ribbons were handed out, people were walking by and commenting about the XS11's historical significance and what "great bikes they were." I'm proud to be an XSive!

Here's the only other XS I saw at the event. It's a super-sharp XS11 Special! (The pics really don't do it justice...it was beautiful!)

Here are lots more pics. If you're ever in KC on the first Saturday in October, make your plans to be at Ralph Wayne's!

More pics of the Vintage Ride and Ralph Wayne's Vintage Backyard Nationals!

    Some nice bikes there!!

That Indian is something to drool over...what a beauty! Old school style

The seat posts on those old Harley's look like they could break through and give you an unwelcome intrusion on a hard bump!

Mine did too. A bit smaller croud, judges were not impressed (lack of rubber/plastic covers on the headlight holder thingie and fork caps and no stripes on the gas tank).

If it doesn't have an engine, it's not a sport, it's only a game.
      (stole that one from I-dont-know-who)
