It looks like the Texas coast is going to get friggin' hammered by Saturday from this one. It is a Cat 2 right now, but is predicted to be a Cat 4 tomorrow, and it is aiming for the middle of the coast. Galveston is already under a manditory evacuation, and Houston is relocating Katrina evacuee's to Arkansas. Y'all on the gulf coast, please keep an eye on this one...it could be really bad.

Just heard category 5. Prayers and best wishes for those in Rita's path. Weather guy on TV says it's a cycle, last time they had this many big storms was during the '40s, '50s & '60s and now we're in for another cycle of big storms. Talk of $5/gal. gasoline in the near future.Shiny side up,

I've got a buddy in Austin who just moved down there from Columbia. So far, say's things are pretty hectic and isn't too sure how bad it could get. I hope for his sake that it doesn't get as bad in Texas as it got in New Orleans. I know a few people down there who still have it pretty bad. I just hope the people in charge have learned a lesson from the mistakes made during Katrina.
Best of luck Texas.~ Street Rat ~

Hey Street_Rat,
You haven't read ALL of the tech tips, have you!!! There's one about the abbreviations used here!
She Who Must Be Obeyed. I actually saw a reference to this on a program on the BBC channel my Swmbo watches. Not sure if that's where it originated?
Welcome, and don't forget to OBEY!

Texsive Rally riders, where ya at?
For all the folks from the Houston area,
Have you folks evacuated? How are you protecting the bikes?
I got some family from Spring, Texas evacuated to my house in College Station. I also have college students because they closed Texas A&M. SWMBO's car and Scorpion are tucked away in the garage... along with a ton of water!
All of the stores here are out of bread, milk, ice and gasoline. People are parked along the evacuation route, out of gas. National guard is supposed to be bringing them gas. Man is it tense down here.
Hope we all pull through this and get to meet up in October for TeXSive 2005.
