  • jetting questions repeated

I know it has been asked before, but I can't remember where. Where is a good place to get new jets. I have decided to rejet in lieu of the money needed to make the FI conversion this winter. According to the rejetting recommendations formulas I need to go up 4 sizes on the mains (110 and 120 to 120 and 130) for individual filters and 4-1 exhaust. Plus one size for the pilots (42.5 to 45). I know it is basically trial and error, but if any one has any other recommendations drop them here.

    Hey Jess,

Are you sure you've got staggered jets in your carbs? Even though the manuals state they are staggered, seems that Yamaha didn't continue with this, my 81SH was 110's straight across, and several others have reported the same!

Secondly, the jetting guide states when combination mods, you subtract 1, so instead of 4 sizes up, you only go 3, so from 110 to 117.5 should be about right. Due to stuck pilot jets, I was not able to go up to the 45's, but my 42.5's are working just fine, just turned the pilot screws out another turn, plenty for the bottom end.

I just checked, and Mike's XS DOESN'T have them in that SIZE, they have 115 and 120, Large Round Type, N100/604 Mikuni
    Part #48-0111 for 115
48-0113 for 120.....$6.00 a pair, need 2 pair of course.

BikeBandit has them in packs of 4 for $9.00 plus S&H, and the DO HAVE the 117.5 size!

    Happy Shopping and tuning.

I guess I will find out if they are staggered when I get them open. The bad part is that outer observations suggest that some one hase been in them before. Who knows what they did.
