    Hey there Gudgean,

It's a shame you didn't come to this site FIRST! There's a fellow in Pa selling a complete fully running 1100 with 2+ parts bikes thrown in for free! He's MartyA here on the Forum.

Side covers are as they say rare as hen's teeth! Best bet is Ebay, but expect to pay $$. If you're not worried about keeping it exactly STOCK looking, then you can even fashion some yourself.

Dust covers should be available from BikeBandit....they supply a variety of OEM parts cheaper than Yamaha Dealers!

Shocks...aftermarket are available from several sources, depending on how much $ you want to spend, around $60-70 for decent version from MikesXS....a 650 online site, but they fit the 1100, Partsnmore.com, oldbikebarn.com, JCW,several sources!

Stock Exhaust are more hen's teeth. You can get NEW Mac 4-2 sets on Ebay under $300 with TURNOUT mufflers vs the Megaphone, but I think you can find Megaphone style on Dennis Kirk, but a bit more pricey.
    Happy Shopping!

I have a left sidecover(battery side) for the 78e,lock tab not broken, has had the rectangle slot upper right fixed. It was missing the small plastic edge that makes it a rectangle.Made a piece and fixed it. Sidecover has no cracks paint is light blue, emblem OK but faded a bit. Do not have a right standard sidecover just left. I have two sets of shocks both work fine not leaking but chrome is not perfectwith some polish might become presentable but certainly not show room. E-mail to andreashweiss@yahoo.com

I have an extra right side cover for a standard xs1100. Came off a 79. I believe it will work. It has faded paint and I think it still has the emblem. Your more then welcome to it. Just email me at ccogswel@earthlink.net and make a cheap offer. I can even send you a pic of it if you want. I'll check to see if its in good shape. Just let me know.

            Hey Gudgean,

Unless you have actual holes rusted in your tank, you may NOT need to replace it. These things often get rusted internally and it's just a matter of cleaning them out, and then relining them with a sealer, and then it'll usually be just fine. You can get petcock rebuild kits. And even the gasket for the gascap.

So...why do you think you need a new one?
