Decent riding jackets/boots

Hey Gang,
Does anyone have a good site for buying a decent riding jacket and boots? The Air Force has some tough rules on our riding gear and being out in the desert, I would like to keep away from the heavy leather jackets. Thanks for the help. DJ

While not leather, I love my Joe Rocket Santa Fe mesh jacket with armored hard spots. I feel protected and don't burn up in 100+ temperatures. Has anyone gone down wearing one of these? Is the protection adequate?

I'm not sure on the Jacket or pants, the Joe Rocket reviews sound good (of course). I have heard that the gloves are junk. Someone went down and they had a few bruises on arms an legs but the gloves disintigrated. He said the gloves tore off his hands and there was bone showing. I've heard others say negative things on the gloves.
My gloves (no crashes) are falling apart. The inner lining of the Phoenix pants is frayed. The jacket is still in fine shape. I use these all year around.

I have the joe rocket gloves and jacket and after 2 seasons they are still okay (never went down in them knock on wood). The gloves aren't that thick so I really wouldn't expect them to last more than a couple feet. I'd rather let the forearm armor take the damage.

As for jacket and such, I use a Kilimanjaro, very comfy and safe, but hot. The vents are not so great. I also have HT pants, but really should've gotten the AIR pants instead (no vents at all, and really really hot).

As for boots, I am shopping right now too, so I don't really have any good advice.

Tall jackets and boots

Tall is tough. If you've long arms, like mine, you will haveabout two choices. The first is, of course, to ride with your wrists, etc. exposed. The second is to have someone like Bates make you a jacket.

As for boots. I have enjoyed my Cruiserworks. They are comfortable and waterproof. However, I believe they are being sold or going out of business. I got an e-mail about closing out the line.
