Why, why, why do people insist on bidding on an item that I want when there are 2 days left? YOU PEOPLE ARE DRIVING UP THE PRICE!!!!!

Sorry, had to get that out.

Yeah, that drives me nuts. Been dealing with it today. Just picked up a full Joe Rocket Phoenix suit (jacket and pants) for $150 though, still not bad

I sniped my 79 XS Special, but I bid about an hour too early (auction ended while I supposed to be in church, God loves bikers, but...). I set my max bid and hoped for the best, it probably cost me $275 more, but I got my bike. Thankfully, the other sniper had a low threshold of "I have got to have that!!!!"

I just re-read my last statement and let me clarify that it was not meant for people on the list!!! Sorry I was just mad. It was a bike that I wanted to buy, but a pedal bike not an MC. I am all for bidding at the last min.!!!! At least that does not drive up the price as much as bidding with a week left!

I had a co-worker that had several Email accounts and different Ebay profiles for each one.
He would bid on his own stuff to drive up the price. He would enter bids to find a current bidders max bid and hope they would bid a little higher to get the item. I would imagine this happens all too often.

If eBay were to ever figure out, they'd shut him down. They take that pretty seriously. I found out you can't even bid on a relatives or roommates auction without getting some nasty gram emails from eBay staff.

On a side note, I'm all about the sniping the items I want. Get 'em cheeper that way ... ... That's how I landed my '78 floorboards for $40.

I just copped a 4R0 ignition module for $40 delivered! I'd call that one hell of a deal, as there is one on auction now and the bid was at $80 a few hours ago.

A friend got a nice honda CM400 (or was it 450) for under 300$. Changed the battery, gas, oil and plugs and it runs great.

I recently got a tank and side covers from a 78 standard for $75 off eBay. I think I'm the first one to see the side covers and I couldn't hit the "buy it now" button fast enough.

I put a bit over minimum bid on the tank and no one bid against me on it. I didn't think I'd get it but, I figured it would be nice to have...

It dosen't always suck. I just got what appear to be a nice set of lowers of a Windjammer V for 41 bucks. I'm holding my breath to see how they look!
