Well, make the most of your riding days boys, it'll be all over within 3 or 4 years. Fossil fuels are rapidly spiralling at an accelerating rate toward extinction as a viable energy source due to filthy greed and obscene profiteering by disgusting contemptible oil companies. NO MORE YAMAHA XS1100'S. Banned, banished, and forced from existence. Parked permanently as ornaments only. OLD INNEFICIENT PETROL COMBUSTION MOTORS WILL NO LONGER BE TOLERATED OR OPERATED. Welcome to your new 'improved' world.

P.S. $1.50 per litre here in NZ, and increasing weekly.

i am going to convert mine to electric. Ha ha. Sure do wish that there was a way to do just that. I would love to see all of these bastards that charge outrageous prices squirm when nobody wanted their product anymore.

UK average litre just topped £1 this week. That's about 7 US dollars per US Gallon.

I think that I would be walking to work.... maybe the old pedal bike. I seriously have looked into those little scooters though. 70 mpg is pretty strong. I am just not sure that I could bring myself to ride one. Might not be too bad back and forth to work.

Guess we could convert our XS11's to burning cooking oil. Surprised no one here has tried it.

Saw something on TV about some Harley guy that did it.

                          Electric XS1100

Have already made plans and tested my 'all electric' 1100. Works great, and is easy to modify.
Pull the spark plugs, have it in first gear, and hit the starter button.
Now... if I can only find a way to get it to crawl further than the end of the driveway, I'd make millions!
