  • Why is it!

Why is it, that every time you have a real nice line set up for a curve, there’s a piece of gravel right where your tires want to go.

And why is it, that the faster you’re going, the bigger the piece of gravel is!

That is because you're not remembering the refridgerator factor.

Anytime you're entering any blind curve that you can't see around, just imagine that there's a refrigerator in the middle of your lane just around the bend.

Then, just in case there IS one, you'll be ready for it./

Did this actually happen to somebody? Seems like most of this kind of thing is mostly based on fact.

It's like rounding a sharp left hander, up near Pleasant Pond in Caratunk, Me, only to find a moose standing in the middle of the road.

One 'O the riders killed in Sturgis this year ran into a port-o-john that had fallen off a trailer and was sitting in the road...Ugh.

At least with a moose, if you aim right and duck, you can go under it.

I solve that problem by going very s--l--o--w--l--y in the curves. The only downside is the crap you hear as vehicles pass you...the kids on a school bus can be cruel...dump truck drivers swear in a variety of languages, so that part is interesting.

What caused the wobble? I don't have my speakers hooked up, so I don't know if there is any audio that would explain it.

                        It looked painfully familiar though

I'm also wondering about the cause and what he either did wrong or neglected to do to avoid or to pull out of the problem.

                              John and others,
You can hear him hit the throttle and try to speed up a bit, and that's when the rear tire breaks loose, like he hit some fine sand on the edge of the road, and so he backs off the throttle, but then appears to get fixated on the wall, and or doesn't know countersteering techniques, and isn't able to swerve to avoid it. Or, he's afraid of the loose sand on the road and doesn't want to try to make a sharp turn maneuver for fear of the back end sliding out from under him again? In either case, it looks like an inexperienced rider none the less!
