I have been running Mobil 1 in my vehicles for a while and have no complaints but I have consittered switching to Amsoil. Amsoil seens like a good product and is slightly cheaper than Mobil 1. What do you think of their products?

I would stay with the Mobil-1, Amsoil is a better lube but it's a lube you can't have now. It's worth it to me to be able to walk into a parts store and walk out with oil rather then have to order it and wait for the mail man. ya can't forget about all the pop-ups you'll get after ordering on line.S.R.Czekus

Amsoil threads spring up from time to time. Problem is that Amsoil does not publish any specs that pertain to motorcycles, let alone cars. The product cannot be purchased in Wisconsin (or could not when I left there a few years back) because they had no data to back up performance claims, such as improved fuel economy and lowered engine wear. This violated Wisconsin's Truth in Advertising laws.
Not saying Amsoil is or is not a good product, just that there is no data to back up their advertising. Lots of anecdotal stories and exaggerated claims: I was promised a 10% improvement in fuel economy if I switched, until the dealer learned I was getting about 50mpg already out of my Yamaha XS 400, then he backed off in a hurry. Imagine...a 5mpg increase by changing out 3 quarts of oil. Dealer had no idea what it would do to a wet clutch environment (I had to explaine what that was) and I wasn't willing to find out.
Have been suspicious of Amsoil ever since that encounter. See no reason to switch from my Rotella, but its your buck and your bike.Jerry Fields

AmsOil makes motorcycle specific oil. I've no XSperience with it. I do have XSperince with the car oil though. I had a 2000 F-250 with the Triten V-10. Was gettin around 7 MPG in town. Put in the AmsOil and bumped it up to around 9 MPG. also was a slight increase in power as well as cooler engine temps. Put in a K&N air filter, this bumped me up to 12 MPG city or hyway, loaded or empty. Also another increase in power. Made me a believer in their product. I'm not convinced about their motorcycle oil. Mabee it would be good in a dry clutch enviroment.S.R.Czekus
