  • Route 97 - 2005 Trip

    Only one more day of work, then SWMBO and I are on holidays for a month - can hardly wait!

    This summer's trip has evolved itself into a trip down the entire length of Hwy 97 from Sicamous, BC to Weed, CA. From there, we'll slip over to Crescent City to pick up the coastal route where we left off the year we did our Washington/Oregon coast trip. We'll spend a couple of days in San Francisco to see some of the sights, then we'll turn around and wander northward towards home.

    Tentative overnight stops on the way down include Chelan, WA, Bend OR, Crescent City, CA, and Fort Bragg, CA. It looks like we'll start out on Monday, July 18th. That should put us into San Francisco on July 22nd for at least two if not three nights. Stops on the way home, or even the route itself, are still pretty much wide open so long as we get back for a family gathering at the end of the month.

    Anybody interested in joining us for part of a leg, or perehaps sampling a local microbrew at one of the overnight points?

    Ken;
    If you can make a side trip south from SF, ride on down to Santa Cruz. The ride south on 1 is nice, about 70 miles, and there is a good little brewpub in town. send me a pm and I can let you know if there is anything fun going on down here.
