They came to look at her about 3:30 PM this afternoon, all 5 piled up in a Dodge neon. He was ready to see this 1100 that he'd been told was "kinda old but unbelievably powerful." We walked around the van and took off the tarp. I told him it had been a month or more since it had been started but it should fire right up, as always. Sure enough, key in, starter punched, it cranked about 3 seconds and came right to life. He asked to ride it, I said "sure but, you wreck it, you've bought it. No ands, ifs or buts." He agreed. He came back a couple minutes later, asked what I wanted for it, made me a counter offer and I said "let me get you the title."
Before I knew it, my 1978 XS Eleven wasn't mine anymore. As I watched him ride off around the curve back to his home in Alabama, I said a silent goodbye............
