Another thing is he's swiping his card with the magnetic stripe on the wrong side. I know Denny has put a lot of money into his XS11 account, but I don't think he'll get cash back from an old Mikuni.

        This is an easy one:
He should throw those aftermarket pod filters away and use my brand new "High flow" CAD designed filters. Basically, you take four 2mm strips of duct tape and install one strip at the intake side of each carb. It traps lots of debris and doesn't restrict airflow like OEM or even pod filters. Just imagine the power gains you will achieve. If interested, please send me a case of MREs (I like the ones with oatmeal bars), $10, and any spare XS parts you have, especially new motors. For some reason, my motors haven't been lasting too long, I am thinking it has something to do with the water cooling kit I installed (self CAD designed system that is produced from materials such as a "baggie" and "tap water" that is hooked up to the small "water cooling attachment" holes in the intake manifold boots. Maybe the engines are getting too cool?

I think he's going to drink the beer and use the empty for a velocity stack, there's your #8. Don't laugh, I'm thinking of spiffin' up the Crunchbird in just this fashion, mudguards for the Kustom Kones.

I know this is an ancient thread but I was doing a search for carb intake boots and found it amusing, so Mike Hart what is the answer or is he on here anymore at all?

                        thanks in adavance,

Funny thing with Syd and his carbs - the picture at the start of this thread was at the BI2K rally in Ladysmith. Here's a photo from the 2006 Selkirk in Revelstoke a month ago:

Just curious. What was used to tap the ends of the filters for the bowl vent lines?
