I like the frogg toggs...durable, comfortable, affordable. I bought the bib pants and jacket and have ridden in absolute downpours and been dry and comfortable.

Gotta watch them on the pipes though.

I pack a two-piece set by Nelson Riggs while SWMBO has a fancy one by another manufacturer. Both suits give good protection, but my two-piece is a whole lot easier to get into and out of. It also gives some flexibility in how much I need to put on for a particular situation. If the rain is very light, and I'm only really dealing with wet roads, I can slip on the pants and be dry while my windshield and fairing take care of the minor bit of water up top.
      YMMV....

2 piece is a must in my opinion.. hard enough getting one of those on on the side of the road, never mind a one piece. Make sure it's got overlapping flaps in front where you zip it up. I've got one that just zips up with only a small overlap in front. Always gives me a wet shirt and everything below as well. Serves me right as it's actually a regular outdoor rain suit and not intended to hit the rain at 60+

For foot wear, pullovers or Rain Boots by Totes work well, as do strap on Gators.

I bought some cheap rain pants($30), but then spent about $150 for a good first gear rain jacket. In POURING rain I had no problems other than wet gloves. 2 peice is the way to go. I would wear the pants and bungee the jacket on the back until it was really raining.

First bike was an: 1978 XS1100
            Second bike is an FJR1300.
            Now I'm restoring a '79 XS1100.

Two piece suit, bought at a sporting goods store 4 years ago, elastic ankle and wrist bands, paid around $40 I think. Has an attached hood that just fits over my helmet, keeps rain from seeping in around my neck.

I use an older style of footwear by Tourmaster, current stuff is at:

                http://www.tourmaster.com/product.html?sku=82-391

Often overlooked but IMHO a real necessity, since my feet get wet even in light rain when I don't feel like pulling over to put on the suit. (My Tourmaster riding suit is pretty rain-resistant in itself.) These are fabric, easy to store, pack, and put on. Got mine from eBay for around $10 or so, also about 4 years ago when I was putting together my wet-weather gear. Have a pair of rubberized gloves with longer cuff that fit over my regular riding gloves. Not ideal as I loose some dexterity, but keeps my hands dry under any condition. Finally, have some anti-fog treatment that I use on the inside of my face shield to help keep it clear under high humidity conditions. 1 treatment lasts about a week, so is not to much of a pain to use. It came from a snowmobile accessory store, and is in a small aresol can.

I bought a 2 piece suit from Costco. It is foul weather gear for sailing, and I bought one size larger. I think it was $60.00, and It's BRIGHT so people see me. I've been commuting on the bike since January, and I stay dry except for the gloves.
I do use the tall rubber rain boots, and I have a pair of "street shoes" in my cube.

SWMBO and I both got 2-piece "Wetskins" from Costco for about $30 CDN. Decent quality, has flaps over zippers to keep rain out. Many pockets. Has zippered vents on the arms. Quick and easy to get in and out of.....just more options than 1-piece IMHO. We like them a lot and haven't got wet yet. Good for fishing, walking, hiking, berry-pickin' and kids (grandkids) soccer games on a rainy day, too. I wear the jacket lots when riding in overcast or cool weather cause it cuts the wind well and keeps me dry when showers come up. SWMBO got a men's small size....better fit than the women's sizes.

Oh, like DiverRay, I also got a size larger. Gives me room for layering underneath for warmth. YMMV.

OK Dennis, I give up. What does "YMMV" mean?

Frog toggs have worked exceptionally well for me. A little 'ugly', not close fitting and all, but perform very well. Strong light packs small breathable and keeps out water.
